Located in old Rio, besides the Lapa area is located Palmares Institute: It fights against racism and promotes social equality snd respect the human rights in Brazil. It creates educational projects to provide jobs for people of African origin.
Rio Arte Popular and Palmares Institute have created a show for visiting groups (20 people minimum) interested in Brazilian Culture and its African roots. It consists on a capoeira show, samba dancing and percussion band together with a painting and handcraft exhibition.
