13 Km from Rio de janeiro, Niterói is a pleasant surprise for the tourists who is drawn by the charms of the other side of the Guanabara Bay.  Niteroí has 11 Km of incredible beaches, such as Camboinhas, Itacoatiara, Paratiniga, Itaipú and Sossego.

Among the natural beauties of the city we can also find the Tiririca mountains and the Parque da Cidade (City Park). The Atlantic forest reserve, on the limits of the Marica district, is a paradise for hikes lovers.  The city also shelters the Imbuí Fort, Barão do Rio Branco Fort, São Luis Fort, Pico Fort, Gragoatá Fort and Santa Cruz Fortress.  The churches deserve a special attention, with constructions of the XVI and XVII century. Among them, The Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem, The São Lorenzo dos Indios, The São Francisco Xavier and The São Sebastião de Itaipú churches.



Except from Brasilia, there’s no other city which shelters so many works of the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer. The city receives lots of tourists who come to visit the Contemporary Museum of Art (MAC). As per its beauty, the museum was consider, by different international publications, “ one of the seven wonders of the contemporary world”.

Besides that, Niterói has the beautiful João Caetano Municipal Theater, a variety of restaurants, bars and shoppings, and is a great destination for sports such as surf, trekking, tandem flights, rock climbing, etc.
